Shake It Loose and Let It Fall
01.06.18

Shake it Loose and Let it Fall is a collaborative performance in response to Soft Roc by Tom et Arthur. It consist of a set produced by a voice-and-loop machine that has been adapted in response to the Soft Roc environment. The performance takes its title from a pop song by Kris Kristofferson, 1969. Like the line ‘Take the ribbon from my hair’ the performance is about cultural constructions of intimacy and the unravelling of affective expectations. The songs in this set share intuitive strategies of splitting, overlap and the isolation and repetition of vocal and physical gesture.
